Here is a Google + GIS map that lets you access the NWS “Fire Weather Planning Forecast” including the wind forecast. Pick a forecast zone and note its number. Here is a version of the map link I have posted that has the VIIRS layer (small circles with white center) turned on. This shows the largest fire spread yet. There was a huge overnight increase in the Thomas fire on the west side. The fire has passed Jameson Lake and is close to Carpinteria. See the map link that I have posted.
